I did not yet introduce myself
Imagine you're on a shop (online or not) and you are looking for something, you know what you want, but you forgot to write down the data, so you don't know the name of the product, how it might be categorized, neither the brand, you only know it was "something to do x" that looked like a "zzzz". Most probably, you will feel a little embarrased and turn around, having lost your precious time for nothing.
If you're brave enough, you will ask somebody. Then, the other person would try to look for similar things on every catalog, brochure or database he may have available, and if you're lucky and he's got a good memory, he would go "there was something like that on...". However, you will most probably go back home with your hands empty and feeling quite stupid.
If you had a search engine that allowed the people on the shop to search for similar geometric structures together with a tagname (like use or color or category) then you would probably find what you where looking for, learn the name and category, and go back home happy and satisfied.
Let's say you're designing a corporate identity. One of the most complicated things is to design something that is original and won't be turned down at the registry because of the existance of other similar logos.
Your search engine would help identifying logos which included similar things, and therefore help avoiding the issue of original design.
For many fashion brands, celebrities are the most valued consumers, as they connect more easily with the crowd, spread values like class, style, trendspotting, fame, beauty, more easily than anything else, and showcase their products constantly and sometimes even more effectively than most marketing campaigns.
However, tracking down who's using which of their products and when might be a pain in the ass (they might control who they give the products to, but not who buys them on their own or who gets them as a present, and certainly they do not control when they choose tu use them.) So for many brands staying in control of who uses what takes too much time, and sometimes magazines don't even identify the product properly.
The sort of search you are speaking of could help identify these products (or at least minimize the time spent on doing so) by selecting the imagest with objects similar to the company's (who would check it from their own products' image bank) on celebrities pictures.
Also very helpful for magazines, online shops, etc.
Let's say I want to buy a skirt, I want one that goes from my waist to my knee, straight down, no openings, etc. I could try to find it by a tagname (imagine the skirt type is called pencil skirt by cosmopolitan magazine), but the producer maybe didn't know this naming, or thinks the skirt doesn't fit that exact trend, or that I don't know the name Cosmopolitan is giving them.
A search engine that does what you describe would let me find the skirt just providing a picture of another skirt like that.
Same with shoes (without having to differentiate if they are classy, trendy, or whatever they might be called), pants, sweats, etc.
Medical Help
posted about 1 year ago on What custom application would you like to have on your mobile phone? What about something that helps us when in need? I'm not talking about being able to make a call when in an emergency, but something that tells the emergency people what I'm taking (drugs), if I've an allergy, etc in a private code so only Emergency people (doctors, ambulances and similar) will see.
For example, I fall in the Street and break a leg (or something), normally I would have to have a bracelet or similar that tells if I have diabetes, or my blood type, but most of us don't, and when the doctor asks for special things to take into consideration we will mostly forget many of the interesting facts to tell (I've asked my friends and family, and only my mom knew her blood type). Probably because we are nervous and most probably because we already didn't know.
Now imagine this, you go uncounscious and alone (or with friends who have no idea of your health). Well, your cell phone would be a great help.
Now imagine that the information is secured and only an authorized doctor could check it, and it contained facts (image, age, date of birth or similar) they could easily verify (just in case the cell you're carrying is not yours)so they didn't put you in the wrong medication. Even your visit to a regular doctor could be easier and more efficient for both.
