Problem context :

How many events have you been to when you had a specific problem or need but had no efficient way of finding the person who had a possible solution or who needed what YOU'VE got?

If you just think of the thousands of conferences, industry tradeshows and business networking functions that are held every year - you're talking about millions of people thrown together attending session after session, enduring who knows how many thousands of PowerPoint slides and milling around the punch bowl (or bar) in an attempt to find the one person who knows something that will REALLY help you solve a critical business problem or connect you with your next opportunity.

 If you then add the tens of millions of people who go to bars, clubs, concerts and other social functions looking for a real relationship - not a one night stand - and who try everything from asking friends to hook you up, to using online and offline personals to paying for a billboard in Times Square. These seekers are trying to find a needle in a VERY large haystack. 

The odds are not good for the business seeker or the personal seeker.

 

Proposed Solution :

I propose a solution that has an online and offline component. The MatchMe system is a software solution that can stand alone or be bolted on to the registration platform for conferences or other functions. It matches needs with haves. It matches problems with solutions. It matches people who need something with people who have that something. This system captures key information of attendees and guides them through a series of questions and profiling process and then allows the user to ask a number of specific "Asks" that the system will then sort through other attendees to match. The number of Asks can be set by the event producers and can be a source of incremental revenue by charging for additional Asks above a pre-set minimum. When the attendee arrives at the event, she is given a printout of people who match their Asks and is given a SmartBadge that is coded with their particular profile. The fun part is a live MatchMe Social that can be set to music or enlivened in other creative ways. This is where the Matches are made as people mix in both programmed and random ways allowing the SmartBadges to recognize one another signifying a Match.
