MP3 player to insert into your Cassette player

posted by Nicolas38 on 2 October 2007 14:50 Go to the market place Go to forum

Problem context :

Re-use your cassette player without mixing multiple tools (adapter, MP3 player).

Proposed Solution :

Build a tape adapter that include a MP3 player (1 or 2 Go of memory would be enough) . The usb connection is included in the pseudo-tape, to make connection with your PC easy. It also includes a remote control, especially to use in a car .

This product has already been tried and failed

I worked at Circuit City for about six years and at one point we carried just such an item. I think it only had around 512 MB of memory. It had no screen or any way of selecting the music. It came and went very fast but I remember thinking how innovative it was, and yet what a small market it would have and always getting smaller.

Ive been wondering why there isnt such a product on the market yet. Most of the people i know still have a cassette player in their cars. This would be ideal. Since there is no need for any powersource (the player still tries to "play" the cassette, use this rotation to power the device) Great thinking Nicolas!] Would it supply enough power?

Use the player rotation engine to load the MP3 player battery ?

An idea to investigate technically: use the rotation managed by the cassette player to charge the batteries. The MP3 player would therefore become autonomous.
