This is the job I want when I grow up. And no, not because it gives you a great opportunity to cop the occasional feel.
Oshiya, or “pusher”, is an informal Japanese term for a worker who stands on the platform of a railway station during the morning and evening rush hours, and pushes people onto the train. This video is a good example of just how crowded it gets on Japanese trains.
Oh man that’s great. I love how the pusher starts shoving the guy in the white coat when he’s nowhere near the door. So awesome. I could totally do that for a living. I’d love my job so much I’d even go above and beyond the call of duty, constantly honing my ability to efficiently get people on the train. I’ve already got a few new proprietary techniques in mind. Namely kicking and pile driving.
Thanks to Robin, who would make the best pusher sidekick ever, for the tip

Sure, you’ve played the Wii, the PS3 and the Xbox 360, but now your favorite feline friend can get into the action thanks to the latest in video gaming technology — the CatBox 360.

Each time kitty steps into the automatic litter box, a new game is activated and a random music track starts to play. Colored indicators scroll down the flip-out LCD screen much like they do in a game of Guitar Hero or Rock Band. As each paw scratches across the litter, it triggers the notes, and every time your cat leaves a “present” in the litter box, the game enters a bonus multiplier mode for extra points.
The system includes such cat-friendly tunes as Cat Scratch Fever, Stray Cat Strut, and of course, Cool for Cats.
The makers of the CatBox, Pawsitivity Games, say they’ve tested the device with hundreds of cats. With time, most of them do start to scratch to the rhythm of the music. An unfortunate side effect, however, is that a handful of cats have started “doing their business” any time they hear music playing — so beware when you crank up your stereo — you might get an unexpected surprise. Hopefully, they’ll work out this minor kink before the CatBox hits the market.
Pawsitivity hasn’t announced a release date or price for the system yet, but my cat can’t wait to get his paws on one.

Here’s a video (NSFW, language) that shows you how to modify a CB radio using parts from a toaster in order to hijack fast food drive thru frequencies. Now, we’d never suggest that you do this in the manner demonstrated by these fine gentlemen. Instead, why not improve the customer service of your local fast food establishment?
“Hi welcome to McDonald’s! Don’t buy the such-and-such it’s a waste of money. Just order the cheaper burger with lettuce and sauce.”
“Did you know that salad has more calories than a Jr. Whopper?”
The possibilities are endless.
Note: Although it is extremely interesting and funny..please, please, please don’t actually do this. Just watch the video and learn about science. People who work fast food jobs have enough to deal with. They are people, too.
(Thanks, Brad!)

Never mind freeze-dried ice cream and Tang–it seems modern-day astronauts are now taking a certain Apple gadget into outer space.

It’s a promotion for a sandwich shop chain, and they don’t provide much of the detail us weenies would like, such as how to make one yourself. But the air cannon constructed by a team from Erbert and Gerbert is still a thing to behold. So watch and envy, as if you needed any encouragement after the word “cannon.”
